따뜻한 독일 남자 다니엘, 그가 들려주는 달콤하고 부드러운 멜로디 - 디지털 미니 앨범 [Serenade (세레나데)] 발매!

1번 트랙 [세레나데 (String Ver.)] (작곡: 다니엘 린데만 / 편곡: 진수영) 
‘세레나데’라고 하면 함께 떠오르는 단어가 하나 있다. 바로 ‘낭만’이다. 아끼고 사랑하는 사람을 생각하며 부르거나 연주하는 음악이 바로 ‘세레나데’이기 때문이다. 내가 만든 이 “세레나데”는, 도입부의 고즈넉한 피아노 연주와 대비되는 단음계의 첼로 선율이 이따금 긴장감을 불러일으키지만, 이내 펼쳐지는 편안한 진행이 한껏 낭만적인 분위기를 자아내는 아름다운 곡이다. 화려한 분위기의 피날레는 ‘사랑의 해피엔딩’을 연상하게 한다. 지금까지 내가 쓴 모든 곡들 가운데 가장 마음에 드는 작품이다. 피아노와 현악기들 사이의 균형이 조화롭고, 지루할 틈 없는 적당한 긴장감과 화려함도 내 의도대로 잘 표현되었다고 생각한다. 
나는 어느 봄날에 이 곡을 만들었다. 그리고 봄은, 사랑과 낭만의 계절이며, 설렘의 계절이다. 이 연주를 듣는 이들도 언제 어느 때고 그 봄날의 낭만에 함께 취할 수 있기를, 사랑에 빠질 수 있기를 바란다.

1번 트랙 [세레나데 (String Ver.)]의 피아노 연주 버전이다.

3번 트랙 [Lounge Piece] (작곡: 다니엘 린데만)
“Lounge Piece”는 말 그대로 라운지 ─ 바(bar)나 카페 등의 배경 음악으로 잘 어울리는 곡이다. 음계 사이의 패싱 노트(passing note)와 7도 화음을 적극적으로 가미하여 마치 모던 재즈와 같은 세련된 느낌을 연출하고자 했다. 잔잔한 분위기로 끝맺는 듯 싶다가 갑작스럽게 반전하는 엔딩도 마찬가지로 그와 같은 의도가 반영된 결과이다. 이제껏 발표한 음악들 중 고향 독일에서 쓴 유일한 작품이기에 유독 더 애정이 간다.

If you think of “Serenade”, you usually think of romance. Traditionally, a serenade is usually a song or a piece which one sings for his/her lover or a person whom one honors or respects a lot. 
This serenade starts with a quite piano intro which is then accompanied by a cello-melody in minor. Afterwards, the very peaceful main piano melody is introduced. After some different parts consisting of piano or piano and strings, the serenade ends pretty loudly and spectacularly to symbolize the happy culmination of love. 
The collaboration of piano and strings possesses a combination of tension and of release and harmony. Furthermore, since this piece was composed during the spring, it fits with the season of romance and love and I hope that many listeners can identify with this piece.

“Lounge Piece” is a piece that one can imagine listening to at a lounge, cafe, or bar. It contains many suspensions and seventh chords, which give the piece a jazzy atmosphere. The ending part gives the illusion of ending quietly, but then finishes very loudly and clearly. 
I like this piece particularly because it is the only piece I composed while I was in Germany.
