작곡가, 베이시스트, 피아니스트, 싱어송라이터 수지킴은 미국 보스턴 버클리음대에서 재즈작곡을 공부하고 현재 캠브리지 론지음대에서 현대미국음악을 공부하고 있다. 어릴 때부터 피아노와 함께 자라며 자신만의 색깔을 찾아 자연스레 작곡과 즉흥연주를 시작하게 되었고 이후 재즈피아니스트 곽윤찬을 사사하고 본격적으로 재즈를 공부하게 되었다. 또한 2009년부터는 더블베이스를 시작하여 보스턴을 중심으로 연주활동을 하고 있다. 

시와 무용, 인상주의 인상주의 미술 등 “순간”을 담은 예술에 대한 사랑이 아름다운 멜로디과 섬세한 하모니로 그의 음악가운데 잘 묻어나온다. 클래식, 포크, 팝, 가스펠, 블루스, 재즈의 다양한 장르를 넘나드는 그의 창의성이 이제는 시각, 공연 등 다양한 예술을 결합하는 다원예술로 그 경계를 확장하고 있다.

Suji Kim is a composer, a bass player, a piano player, and a singer-songwriter from Seoul, South Korea. She studied Jazz Composition at Berklee College of Music and now is pursuing her composition studies at Longy School of Music's master's program. 

Originally a classically trained pianist, she naturally began to write music and improvise in search of her own voice. She has found a special interest in double bass and has pursued it since 2009. 

With her love for poetry, photography, dance, and impressionistic painting, her music depicts and re-realizes “the moments” to the listeners with her beautiful melodies and delicate contemporary harmonies. Suji’s composition covers a wide range of styles including classical, folk, pop, gospel, blues, and jazz, and now she is expanding her creative horizon outwards to interdisciplinary arts.
