사람은 모두가 사랑하며 살아간다. 그 대상은 타인, 동물, 사물, 장소 등 다양하지만, 무엇 하나 사랑하지 않는 사람은 없다. 그런데 사랑은 어렵다. 하는 것도 받는 것도 도무지 익숙해지기가 어렵다. 저마다의 미운 구석이 있고 때로-어쩌면 자주- 그것이 커 보여서일까?

어떤 사랑엔 마침표가 있다, 더 이상 사랑할 수 없는 순간이. 그 자국은 진한 여운을 남기지만, 또 다른 사랑으로 이어지는 매듭이기도 하다. 이번에는 나를 좀 더 사랑하고 싶었다. 스스로를 사랑해주지 못하는 만큼, 그 사람을 사랑할 수 없었던 것 같다. 나를 사랑하게 된다면 그땐 좀 더 너를 사랑할 수 있게 될 것만 같다. 그래, 다신 마주치기 싫은 너까지.

Everyone loves in life. Whether it be people, animals, materialistic things, or place; there is not a single soul that does not live life without loving at least one thing. But still, love is hard. It can sometimes be hard to love someone, and because we may not be accustomed to receiving affection it can be awkward and hard to accept the love given around us. Perhaps such problems are rooted from judging each other’s flaws, rather than learning to embrace our imperfections or offer solutions. 

We learn that in relationships, either romantic or platonic; there is a point when we might part ways. When that happens, the deepest scar may be left within the soul. But when we are ready, we would realize that the end of a relationship would be the beginning of another. To love once again, and upon realizing that; I wanted to learn to love myself a little more. For the love I had for myself could only amount to how much love I gave. If I learned to love myself more, perhaps my love for another would overflow. Maybe even those whom I would loathe encountering.
