"I am 27 she's 29" is a song that the man sings about him and his ex-girlfriend who still miss each other after the break up.  Since the time when the woman got a job and met a new co-worker, the man has got estranged from the woman because he was having a hard time getting a job at that time. Although they parted away from each other, as time goes by, they get to learn that they still miss each other. Maybe it is so a common attribution to their breakup for many couples.
