여성 가객과 피아노의 만남,
21세기 한국을 대표하는 새로운 실내악 장르의 탄생

갖가지 꽃과 나무들이 뿌리를 내리고 있는 정원. 
꽃향기에 이끌려 여기저기에서 찾아드는 나비와 벌들, 지친 날개를 접고 나뭇가지에 앉아 지저귀는 새들이 함께 숨 쉬고 있는 그곳을 가만히 바라보면 그 안의 모든 것들이 조화롭게 어우러지는 하나의 작은 세계임을 알 수 있다. 하윤주는 정가 프로젝트 ‘Jardin du Son(소리의 정원)’을 통해 작은 자연의 세계를 아정한 소리들로 재구성하여, 또 하나의 새로운 음악 세계로 구현하고자 한다. 

하윤주의 정가 프로젝트 ‘Jardin du Son’의 첫 번째 이야기 ‘추선(秋扇)’.

한국 전통가곡과 서양 예술가곡의 만남을 통해 새로이 불릴 이번 앨범 ‘추선(秋扇)’은 ‘사랑을 하다 헤어진 여자의 마음’을 주제로 하고 있다. 새로운 옷을 입고 한들거릴 노래와 조화를 이루며 만들어 낼 소리로 가득 채워진 소리의 정원을 상상해보며, 전통가곡과 서양 예술가곡의 융합을 통해 새롭고 다양한 발전 가능성을 엿볼 수 있다. 음역대가 넓고, 곡에 따라 다양한 분위기를 만들 수 있는 피아노를 반주로 사용함으로써 국악기가 지닌 화성의 한계를 뛰어넘어 악기 특유의 서정적인 분위기를 담아내고자 하였다. 이번 앨범의 작곡은 최우정(서울대학교 음악대학 작곡과 교수, TIMF앙상블 예술감독), 작사는 극작가 배삼식(동덕여자대학교 문예창작과 교수)이 함께하였다.

You see a garden where all kinds of flowers and trees have spread their roots in. When you stay still and gaze at the butterflies and bees led by the scent of flowers flying in from here and there and the birds, having their tired wings folded and chirping as they are sitting on the branches, are breathing together, you will see that it’s a small world in which everything in there is mixed harmoniously. Ha Yun-ju is introducing once again another new world of music by recreating the world of small nature with dainty sounds with the traditional song project ‘Jardin du Son(Garden of Sound)’. 

‘Chu-Sun(Autumn Fan)’, 
the first story of Ha Yun-ju’s Jungga project ‘Jardin du Son’

The ‘Chu-Sun(Autumn Fan)’ will be newly sung through the convergence of the Jungga(Korean traditional song) and the Western art song, with the theme ‘the heart of a woman who parted after love’. By imagining the garden of sound filled with the sound to be made by harmonizing with the song waving with new clothes on, listeners will have a look at new and diverse possibilities of development by the convergence of the traditional song and the western art song. By using the piano accompaniment with a wide range of notes and that can create a diverse atmosphere of different songs, the album has overcome the limitation in the chord which the traditional instruments have, and it captured the unique atmosphere of sentimentality the traditional instruments possess. The music was verses were written by playwright Pai, Sam Shik(Professor of Creative Writing at Dongduk Women's University) and composed by Choe, U Zong(Professor of Composition at Seoul National University College of Music/artistic director of TIMF Ensemble).
