As NPR writes, “siblings Clyde and Gracie Lawrence are not your typical pair.” Clyde Lawrence, 26, and Gracie Lawrence, 22, have been writing songs and listening to countless Stevie Wonder, Randy Newman, and Aretha Franklin records in their family’s New York City apartment since they were little kids. After years of playing together, they officially created Lawrence, an eight-piece soul-pop band comprised of musician friends from childhood and college. The band has since gained a devoted following for its high-energy, keyboard-driven sound, which features tight, energetic horns, explosive lead vocals, and fully-live arrangements.

In June 2019, Lawrence became the first band to sign with Beautiful Mind Records, the label of Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/artist Jon Bellion. In the weeks following the signing, they released the Bellion-produced single “Casualty,” and embarked as support on Bellion’s Summer 2019 Glory Sound Prep Tour.

Lawrence first rose to prominence in 2016 when they released their debut LP Breakfast (2016), which received attention and praise from a variety of sources ranging from NPR’s All Things Considered to Stephen Curry’s social media. Produced by Grammy Award winner Eric Krasno (Lettuce/Tedeschi Trucks/Soulive), Breakfast includes guest performances by NYC soul/funk mainstays Adam Deitch (Lettuce), Cory Henry (Cory Henry & the Funk Apostles, Snarky Puppy), and Maurice “Mobetta” Brown (Anderson .Paak, Tedeschi Trucks Band). In the past three years, Lawrence has sold out headline shows across the country and appeared at festivals including Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Firefly, Okeechobee, Hangout, and many more. The band has also opened for notable acts such as Lake Street Dive, Vulfpeck, Jon Bellion, Soulive, Jacob Collier, Blues Traveler, O.A.R, Bernhoft, and others.

로렌스는 2016년 ‘Breakfast’로 데뷔를 하고 NPR과 스테픈 커리의 SNS에 언급되며 유명세에 오르기 시작했다. 그레미 수상자인 에릭 크라스노와 (Lettuce/Tedeschi Trucks/Soulive) 함께 했으며 지난 3년간 헤드라인 방송들과 수많은 페스티벌 공연들을 통해 밴드의 이름을 알려왔다. Breakfast는 아담 데이치 (Lettuce), 코리 헨리 (Cory Henry & the Funk Apostles, Snarky Puppy), 모리스 모베타 브라운 (Anderson .Paak, Tedeschi Trucks Band)드와 함께했다. 지난 3년간 로렌스는 전미 헤드라인 공연들을 모두 매진 시켰고, onnaroo, Outside Lands, Firefly, Okeechobee, Hangout 같은 페스티벌에도 참석하였다. 그뿐만이 아니라 로렌스는 Lake Street Dive, Vulfpeck, Jon Bellion, Soulive, Jacob Collier, Blues Traveler, O.A.R, Bernhoft의 공연에서 오프닝 공연을 한 경력도 있다.

In addition to the band, Clyde and Gracie have also amassed considerable resumes with other artistic pursuits. Clyde has written songs and score for film and television, including Miss Congeniality (2000), Music and Lyrics (2007), The Rewrite (2015), Landline (2017), and the forthcoming Disney film Noelle (2019). Gracie is an accomplished actress, appearing as a series regular alongside John Caroll Lynch, Leslie Odom Jr., and Sturgill Simpson in the CBS All-Access murder mystery One Dollar. Gracie has also appeared on Broadway in Brighton Beach Memoirs (2009), in films such as The Sitter (2011) and Did You Hear About the Morgans? (2009), and in tv shows including The Good Wife (2012), The Americans (2014), and Younger (2015). 

클라이드와 그레이시 로렌스는 다양한 예술분야의 경력을 가지고 있다. 로렌스의 클라이드는 Miss Congeniality (2000), Music and Lyrics (2007), The Rewrite (2015), Landline (2017), and the forthcoming Disney film Noelle (2019)와 같은 영화음악 작곡에 참여했고, 그레이시는 브로드웨이 Brighton Beach Memoirs (2009), 영화 The Sitter (2011), Did You Hear About the Morgans?
