If the memories fade

did it exist?

The words get in the way,
when I take the time to say.
The places that I hide,
can you find?
Did we witness shattered
dreams with eyes wide open?
Is our future dying
in the night?
If the eyes are closed,
do the senses grow or faulter?
And the words we hear
cut far to near into the bone.
If I climb a peak
will I find silence?
Or a scenic board
from which to dive.
